challenge
The US MNC with 10000+ people in India and a global strength of 53000+ the company had well established Human Resources function aligned with global teams. They have excellent
businesses with high margin and retained global clientele.
The Indian businesses spread across few cities in India usually hire people with graduation with couple of years in technology space. The managers of these teams manage and leads teams anywhere from 6 people to 30 people, depending upon their global business protocols.
Prior to our intervention- the team managers were not exposed to any formal education or training on managerial skills barring couple of them with MBA degree. This has lead to lower level of managerial capability at the workplace, resulting into people dissatisfaction, managers were also perceived as biased as they spent their time with only few people whom they liked to work with, avoiding difficult conversations and people.
solution
Our consultants were asked to help the company to improve the effectiveness of the team managers.
Our consultants in consultation with internal leaders designed First Line Manager Development Program which was delivered over two days for team managers with couple of follow up sessions with action plans review .
Outcome
The program did have a rating of 4.3 out of 5 on an average and well accepted and participated by the team managers. We covered around 400+ team managers in the company through multiple sessions.
